Cory Doctorow had a discussion of DRM at Microsoft. I enjoy many essays, speeches, and what-have-you that include the phrase, Hilarity ensues. Even more fun is jailarity ensues. Maybe I’m just easily amused
. All amusement aside, though, it’s a really good discussion of why DRM fails, and why trying to make DRM work is bad for people, bad for business, and bad for society.

I found some useful information on common causes of 80040E14 errors. The site is called ASP FAQ, but they have some good stuff for anyone using OLE DB and/or SQL Server as well (like a super-handy SQL Server 2000 Build Chart that lists build numbers and the fixes that are in each particular build).
firstobject XML Editor is a nifty, free XML editor. Best part is, it handles Unicode flawlessly, at least as far as I’ve seen. It even handles UTF-8 both with and without BOMs, which is a fairly common failing I’ve run across in other text and XML editors.
Ian’s Shoelace Site has a lot of good information on tying shoelace knots (diagrams, alternate techniques, troubleshooting hints, and the world’s fastest shoelace knot).
