Decent movie. Unexpected happenings. Not sure I’d rent it again, if I had to go back and do it over.

Watch? No.

Children of Men

Good movie. Clive Owen did a yeoman job of acting in it, and it’s got some fancy camera work, as well as a mondo dark atmosphere. Too violent for kids (or the squeamish).

Watch? Yes.

The Host

Fantastic monster movie! Well worth watching, even more than once. It’s been a long time since a good monster movie came out.

Watch? Yes.

Little Children

An OK movie. I thought the director copped out at the end, though. It was not a satisfying resolution.

Watch? No.

A bizarre movie, for sure. Interesting. Not good if you’re into plots, or don’t like stylistically bad camera work. Worthwhile scenes, though, like the bit about drinking cough syrup out of a slipper (doesn’t work, in case you’re wondering).

Watch? Yes.

The Sea Inside

Great movie. I had it sitting around for probably two months (from Netflix) before I got to watching it. Near the end I was expecting it to turn into a sentimental tearjerker, but somehow — and I’m not entirely sure how — the director managed to make it a touching, spiritual, fulfilling ending, with much more joy than sadness.

Watch? Yes.

Miami Vice

This movie made me angry. It stole over two hours of my life, and gave me back an eyeful of dog poo. There are five interesting minutes at the beginning, then a couple hours of travel and talking, then five minutes of shooting at the end. Avoid this at all costs. I’m not even going to link to it, because I don’t want to be responsible for you accidentally giving those people money.
