I’m a huge fan of Miracleman. I’m not normally what you’d call a “comics guy,” but I was snared a long time ago by a quote from one of the comics, and it was all over after that.
Unfortunately, the original comic is out of print, and the large hardcover and softcover books that collected the stories are also out of print. The publisher, Eclipse Comics, went out of business, and due to some fairly weird and nasty legal battles, the rights to do any more work with the character have been a matter of much controversy. However, it looks like this may get resolved favorably at some point in the future. So there is hope that these fantastic stories are not forever out of reach for the general public (well…they’re not Tiffany’s-expensive on eBay, though that gets less true every year).
