The bridge collapse is big news today, of course. I’m fortunate to have missed it, though not by much. It turned out to be an extremely good thing for me to have decided, after years of waiting (layers of dust!), to spend ten minutes sorting through my old MSDN DVDs to see if there was anything worthwhile. I was just pulling onto the highway when the bridge went down.
I was amazed at how badly the cell networks were crushed, and this was just a small disaster. How well would the communications infrastructure hold up during a major event?
Anyway, I created a Google map showing where my office is (upper right corner) and where the bridge is (lower left corner). Inquiring minds, and all that.
I also made up a map, with spiffy red pointy bits.
