A couple more tequilas · Sat Nov 13, 10:00 AM
While I was away at the AYE Conference, I got the chance to try a couple new (to me) tequilas. I tried the Cazadores blanco, which was pretty smooth but still had that Cazadores bite, just a touch medicinal. Not a bad blanco, but it’s surely no El Tesoro or Corazon. I found it odd that there is no mention or sight of the blanco variety on the Cazadores website (their reposado has been around for a long time, and is apparently very popular in Mexico, but the blanco is new).
At the Phoenix airport I tried the Gran Centenario Reposado, which I found very smooth and actually less flavorful than most reposados (in my eyes this is actually a good thing…). It tasted fairly fruity and not too woody or smoky. Pretty good, definitely drinkable if you don’t have something better handy :).
